SOFTWARE ENGINEERING / EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

From code
to motion.

I’m Luan Phan. I explore how software works beneath the surface, from Linux kernels to microcontrollers navigating the real world.

01 / SELECTED WORK

Built to understand.
Designed to work.

Academic projects at the intersection
of software and physical systems.

LINUX SYSTEMS FALL 2024

Inside the Linux kernel

Configured an Ubuntu virtual machine, then compiled and installed a Linux kernel to explore the operating system from the inside.

OPERATING SYSTEMS FALL 2024

Concurrency & memory

Implemented a producer-consumer kernel module using threads and semaphores, then explored virtual memory by traversing page tables.

02 / THE FOUNDATION

Curiosity,
down to the details.

My computer science studies at Arizona State University span algorithms, data structures, and operating systems. I’m interested in software engineering and embedded systems, especially where code meets hardware.
